Meeting Guidelines

  1. Modified IRC standard behaviour applies throughout
    1. Don't over-use or abuse private /msgs and /dcc sends
    2. Pay attention to the meeting
    3. Keep on-topic
    4. No abuse, attacks, bashing, etc
    5. No flooding, spamming, or bots
  2. Meeting-specific behaviour
    1. Chair will use "Topic:" and "Resolution:" to guide the conversation and take votes.
    2. Getting and releasing the floor:
      1. "chair gives X the floor." - Chair gives the floor (donner la parole).
      2. X then has the floor to speak to the topic (ie no speaking out of turn).
      3. "EOF" - gives the floor back to the speaker.
    3. Signalling to the speaker (Please try not to signal while someone has the floor):
      1.  ! (on it's own) - Your intent to speak or comment
      2. X - Withdraw a pending request to speak
      3.  !! - Raise a point of information
      4.  !!! - Raise a point of order
      5.  ? - Ask for clarification
    4. During a vote:
      1. To vote yes use "yay"
      2. To vote no use "nay"
      3. To vote abstain use "abstain"
    5. Basic Etiquette
      1. Email/Usenet-style etiquette applies
      2. Avoid italics, bold, colour, ASCII "art", etc unless really essential
