Socialization of IPs

Re: Socialization of IPs. If we take this stance, we risk alienating a sizable portion of the anti-copyright crowed (the Austrian Economics types/Mises.org folks). --Josh 07:13, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

I would agree. I personally am in favor of making national networks such as the ISPs and the Cellular providers networks utilities; to be treated just like water/gas/electric. Here in Alberta that means that the government owns/maintains the infrastructure and rents it to providers. --Keynan 20:08, 12 August 2009(UTC)
Yes, I suppose the question is whether or not we should define it as Party policy. Again, we're a pretty mixed group to begin with - and I think we should attempt to be as 'big tent' in our policies as we possibly be. I'm suggesting that 'socializing IPs' may be more divisive than is desirable.--Josh 22:30, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm pretty sure if it is explained properly that most people will not be against the idea of 'Socializing ISPs'. The internet infrastructure is effectively a '[1] Natural Monopoly'. I've already covered it in my [2] Public Internet Debate forum post for how I feel it might work best. ConcernedCitizen 15:10, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
